I am not entirely certain if they wear black, I haven't asked, but I am sure you would look handsome in a suit.
no subject
... Thanks? [ tingly feeling, ] It was being discussed between a few members of my clan. Black is appropriate. I don't usually wear much other than my thaumaturge set... but a suit does has more than a one time use.
no subject
That’s why I know it’s necessary for me to take responsibility for myself, for my own well-being, so Chongyun remain cautious for yourself.
Anyhow, I guess we’ll see Tamamo Clan members in attendance? And you are correct, but how often do you think you’ll find yourself in need of a suit?
no subject
You will. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see people from every clan. As for how often I’ll need a suit … I guess that depends on how many funerals I’ll be attending.
no subject
You know, I think I'll rank about the same level as a daielevengu.
no subject
If we reach daitentytwogu, buying a suit outright will have been worth the cost.
no subject
But Chongyun, there is no need for you to confirm any of my suspicions.
As for making that investment, well, if you hear of the daitwenty-twobillioneighty-fivethousandthreehundredninty-ninegu's demise, well, at that point consider we may be running out of alliance members. Actually, I wonder just how large the population here is.
no subject
If it ever reached that point, I have to assume we’d be in all out warfare. As for the number of lost souls … do you think the Department would have those numbers? It seems like everyone is processed upon arrival.
no subject
Now as for this city’s population. Well, that information, I wonder how readily available it is. Would you like to accompany to visit the department then?
no subject
Maybe. Honestly, if I have to wait on those lines again, I'd rather it be for more than just one thing ... especially since the information they're willing to give out is limited. That's an answer I can wait on for now.
no subject
Don't worry, I have time, at least. I'll see if I can spare any for the wait. I can keep myself entertained anyway, so there is that. Besides, I have other things to research, so I may make the trip soon.
no subject
Well, if you do plan to go, I will go with you. I'll just make sure to have a few more questions to ask to make it worth it. Or at least bring a book myself ... I'm still looking for a good compendium of spirits.
no subject
Perhaps we can compile a list of questions and requests? That may be beneficial just so we don't lose track of anything. As for books, I have quite a few if you want to pick out one for yourself... but I guess there is still that novel regarding a certain princess. Likely that may be the closest at your reach. Just kidding.
It's something like governing body, perhaps they have a compilation on the many types of youkai about?
no subject
Do you have any books with facts about demons and youkai? There's much I want to learn, since there are spirits here that were not in my family tomes ... I think I would feel better doing research. As you've said before, it's like other people know more than us. I'd like to catch up.
That would be very welcome.
no subject
I may have something or another, although these books are more pertaining to mythological tales. It's all folklore from that nation you once mentioned, there are also some stories from other places I have no idea where they may be but I don't believe those books would be of any use to you. Unless you're looking for simple entertainment.
Chongyun, when was the last time you visited? The clothes on my chair are starting to pile up.
no subject
No, I was looking more for actual facts. There's some merit to mythological tales and folklore, sure, but I'd prefer something more concrete. I didn't think it'd be so hard to find something like that — it's like everyone only cares about entertainment.
That happens every week, doesn't it? [ too bad this is text, because he's actually thinking so quite fondly... ] I'll come again soon.
no subject
That's...Chongyun. Why not try this, ask someone who hails from that land of Japan to verify the information found within those texts. A comparison, perhaps somewhere those tales are myths but here it's applied differently. Take for example the kitsune women, I am sure you have seen plenty of them within the Tamamo Territory, correct? For the most part, they appear harmless enough but there are some stories that entail them feeding upon people's lifeforce, even consuming human flesh. Their teeth are rather sharp wouldn't you say?
I hope you do. Soon. Visit me soon okay? Otherwise, my clothes may end up out the door.
no subject
I can't speak from experience, but they do look sharp from what I've seen. But I see what you're saying — I should gather the information I want to confirm and then confirm it with those who have personal experience. That might actually work ... in that case, I should find as many of those texts as possible and start notating them. Thank you Xingqiu, this is an excellent idea.
I wouldn't want that to happen. How about tomorrow?
no subject
It's probably best not to get too well acquainted with them, I'll admit they're a bit intimidating in a pack especially if their lead takes a wicked interest. Just be careful, you're going to be surrounded by those types of individuals.
Anyway, I am just glad I could give you some guidance in your approach to gathering information. I suppose tomorrow is too soon, but we can compare notes eventually, so we'll just enjoy that time together. Oh! I know. I can prepare a meal for the both of us, I have other things I wish to share with you.
no subject
Right. I don't intend on letting any mischievous spirits get the better of me. At least now I can really prove my mettle as an exorcist. Not in the traditional way, but ... at least this is something.
That's right, you do owe me a meal. I look forward to it.
no subject
Well, it's reassuring to hear that you're aware you cannot go about this in typical fashion. It seems martial arts may be of more use? But really, this whole place has turned out to be a mess. Maybe that's the truly hellish part.
Hehe. Yeah. I do owe you don't I? Well, then tomorrow we'll dine together.
no subject
Yeah, I've been relying mostly on martial arts. I can do a little bit of thaumaturgy but not as much as I'd like when dealing with spirits. And you're right about that — I don't know what I expected Hell to be, but this is definitely ... something.
Great. See you soon.
no subject
So you've needed to — wait — never mind. I can see it. And yes, it is a something I would be glad to leave behind. Speaking of which, perhaps I imagined it or it may be true that people don't remain here eternally. I just have to verify that information.
Okay, we'll continue this discussion tomorrow night.
no subject
That makes sense, doesn't it? There have been people I've met a few times that I haven't heard from again... and there's also the matter of our contracts, isn't there? A lot of people must have asked for something applicable back in the mortal realm.
I have some thoughts about it. We'll discuss this tomorrow.
